The only thing I am scared of when doing with USB is not messing up anything that will cause me problems. It should be obvious which disk is the USB and which is your main system disk as that system disk is likely much larger than your USB stick, I assume. When it’s done with those steps which should be quick then click nest and let setup do its’ thing. If you only have 1 drive and want your entire system to just have a C drive you can delete all the partitions on your main drive, then click the New button to make a single new partition as the whole disk, then setup will create several more smaller ones it also needs, and then you select the biggest one and click Format. From there you can go to your system’s manufacturer support site and find the official versions for any generic and/or missing drivers and install them for a better running system.Īs for the partitions, it shows you the physical disk numbers for every drive it detects in your system and shows the drive number next to any partitions it finds on each disk so you know which partitions are on which disk. USB method is a true “clean” install which will leave you with a fresh installation and generic drivers.
